In this contract role, you’ll provide occupational therapy services one day a week, with the option to expand your hours by pairing this position with a nearby charter school. Your expertise will support students’ functional skills, enabling them to better access curriculum and participate fully in school life.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Current Michigan OT license and registration
- Previous experience as a school-based OT or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and document therapy goals and IEP objectives
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to different school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students’ unique needs
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with IEP teams
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to support students’ educational outcomes
- Work closely with teachers, special educators, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, providing professional insights regarding student progress
