Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy settings is preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, educators, and families
  • Strong communication skills and an empathetic, student-focused approach
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques for student populations
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a COTA in Rhode Island or eligibility to obtain

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
  • Assist in implementing IEP goals and documenting student progress
  • Engage with students individually and in small groups to promote independence and skill development

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of student services and participation
