Enhance early childhood development as an Occupational Therapist in a supportive school environment dedicated to children from birth to age five. This dynamic contract role offers the opportunity to work part time—just two days a week—with flexibility in scheduling to support your work-life balance. You’ll be collaborating with a passionate team committed to providing quality services in both Head Start and Early Head Start programs throughout the school year.

Your primary focus will be supporting young learners at three separate sites (with a designated home base), assisting students, staff, and families in multiple settings. This role also involves close collaboration with district teams to develop and implement IEPs, and engaging directly with home visitors when needed for students with ISSP/IEPs. You’ll have the unique chance to empower parents, equipping them with strategies and tools as vital partners in their child’s growth and success.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist, eligible for school-based practice in Illinois
  • Experience working in early intervention, preschool, or school-based settings preferred
  • Familiarity with collaborative IEP processes and early childhood best practices
  • Ability to travel between multiple local sites as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support young learners, families, and staff
  • Passion for working with families from diverse backgrounds and supporting parent engagement

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to children (birth-5) in Head Start and Early Head Start programs
  • Collaborate with staff and district teams on IEPs and related documentation
  • Support and educate parents and home visitors to enhance intervention strategies in home and classroom environments
  • Contribute to a dynamic team atmosphere, adapting services to meet the needs of diverse learners across multiple locations
