Embark on an exciting contract opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the vibrant Alaska school community near Wasilla. As an Occupational Therapist working in an educational setting, you’ll collaborate closely with students, educators, and support staff to enrich the learning environment and foster student success through dynamic, hands-on intervention.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for the state of Alaska
- TYPE C Certification (required)
- Preference for candidates who are AK-Certified or eligible
- Demonstrated experience in a school-based OT role is highly desirable
- Ability to effectively deliver in-person therapy services—virtual/VOCO is not being considered at this stage
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and educational staff
- Strong organization and time management
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide approximately 1000 minutes of direct student contact weekly (about 16 hours) within a standard 37.5-hour workweek
- Perform comprehensive evaluation, intervention planning, and documentation in alignment with school guidelines
- Customize therapy to support each student’s IEP goals, focusing on skills essential for classroom success
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing your expertise to support student needs and educational outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and comply with confidentiality regulations at all times
