A full-time contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to provide essential school-based services for the 2024/2025 academic year near Waukegan, IL. In this role, you'll work closely with students of varying needs, helping them develop the necessary skills for academic achievement and daily classroom participation.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active Illinois OT license in good standing
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Strong ability to support students in an inclusive, team-oriented educational environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Assess student abilities and create individualized treatment plans to address fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skill development
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service providers to facilitate student progress and integration within the school setting
- Document evaluations, progress reports, and interventions according to regulatory and district standards
- Provide guidance to school staff and families to support carryover of therapeutic strategies in classroom and home environments
