Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential occupational therapy services within a supportive educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity (35 hours per week) focuses on helping children ages 5 to 10 achieve their academic and developmental goals. Beginning in the upcoming 26/27 school year, you'll play an integral role in supporting young learners’ growth, independence, and participation in daily school activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Illinois
- Experience delivering OT services in school, home health, or pediatric healthcare environments
- Familiarity with IEP processes, goal setting, and documentation for school-based OT
- Strong assessment skills to identify student needs in motor function, sensory processing, and adaptive skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, working effectively with students, teachers, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students aged 5 to 10 to determine occupational therapy needs impacting school performance
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student’s IEP
- Deliver targeted OT interventions within classroom and small group settings
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings
