Join an engaging school-based setting for a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across PreK-12th grade. This position is near Waukegan, IL and requires a versatile Occupational Therapy professional skilled in both school and healthcare settings. You'll contribute directly to student success by fostering essential fine and gross motor skills.

Key Details:

  • Orientation: Friday, June 5
  • Program dates: Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 26
  • No school on Friday, June 19
  • Student hours: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Staff hours: 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid OT or COTA licensure (Illinois)
  • Experience in school, home health, or healthcare OT settings
  • Familiarity with strategies to enhance fine and gross motor skills in children and adolescents
  • Ability to tailor therapeutic interventions for a wide range of student ages and needs
  • Effective communicator with teachers, families, and students
  • Prior experience navigating the unique needs of PreK-12 populations is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address students’ motor function and adaptive skills
  • Develop individualized intervention plans based on IEP goals and teacher collaboration
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate therapy sessions
  • Track progress and maintain clear records for each student
  • Work closely with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and other team members
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing communication with staff
  • Support student growth within a condensed summer session schedule
