As a dedicated professional, you'll be working full time with 4 low-incidence classes, including life skills and autism programs, impacting the lives of approximately 36-40 students near Waukegan, IL. This position provides the chance to collaborate with educators and families, fostering growth in both fine and gross motor abilities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy (OT) licensure, with strong knowledge of OT practices in schools
  • Previous experience in school-based settings, home health, or general healthcare environments
  • Proven ability to adapt interventions for diverse learning needs, including students with autism and significant disabilities
  • Proficiency in supporting development of fine motor and gross motor skills
  • Experience collaborating with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA)
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork with staff, students, and families
  • Skill in creating and implementing individualized programs focused on student success
  • Compassionate, positive attitude with adaptability and a problem-solving mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct OT services to students in low-incidence classes throughout the school year
  • Address students' fine and gross motor needs with tailored, evidence-based interventions
  • Evaluate functional levels, set measurable goals, and regularly report progress
  • Support teachers and COTAs with strategies and resources for inclusive practices
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights and documentation
  • Foster a supportive, engaging therapy environment aligned with best practices
  • Maintain up-to-date records and compliance with all relevant regulations
