Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting elementary students in an intermediate building for grades 3-5. This position is located near Waukegan, IL, and offers the chance to provide consultative and direct occupational therapy services, focusing on fine motor and sensory needs for approximately 25 students. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with a flexible schedule of 2 to 3 days per week—choose two full days or spread your hours across more days with shorter shifts. Hours are conveniently set from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Illinois OT license and registration
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy
- Ability to deliver consultative support and direct services for fine motor and sensory needs
- Comfort working with grades 3-5 in a collaborative educational environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student participation in classroom activities
- Provide consult services and develop individualized strategies for students
- Deliver direct intervention for fine motor and sensory regulation as needed
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a resource for educational staff and families regarding occupational therapy strategies
