Occupational Therapist School Setting in Westerly, RI

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or experienced, seasoned COTA considered
• Previous experience in school-based or pediatric therapy settings
• Familiarity working with K-12 populations, with emphasis on early childhood/preK
• Proficiency in supporting students who use AAC devices and those with ASD
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt and innovate therapy approaches within dynamic educational environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and provide both direct and consultative occupational therapy services
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with students’ IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate therapy strategies across school environments
• Document and track student progress, maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Educate and advocate for best practices and assistive technology, focusing on inclusion and developmental growth
