An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to provide specialized care in school settings, focusing on supporting students’ developmental and functional needs. This role involves travel assignments, serving various educational environments to enhance students’ abilities and promote independence.
Location: Westfield, MA (travel position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique goals.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy into the school day.
- Provide guidance and training to staff and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment.
- Document student progress and adjust interventions as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a school or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of developmental disorders and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple school locations throughout assignments.
