Two full-time opportunities are available: one serving primarily an elementary student caseload and another focusing on high school students. These contract roles span from late August through early June, offering a full academic year of rewarding work within a collaborative environment.
Desired Background & Expertise:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan.
- Demonstrated experience in school-based, home health, or healthcare-focused OT settings, with a strong foundation in pediatric or adolescent development.
- Ability to effectively support diverse student needs and deliver individualized therapy services.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and school staff.
- Adaptability and resourcefulness to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary or high school students as assigned.
- Administer assessments and develop comprehensive intervention plans to address students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional skills.
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and related service providers to promote student success and inclusion.
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to team discussions.
- Support classroom staff with strategies, adaptive tools, and training for optimal student outcomes.
