Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current OT licensure in Vermont or eligibility to obtain
- Demonstrated experience providing OT services to children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting
- Solid understanding of IEP process and special education documentation
- Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Excellent communication skills to consult effectively with educators, families, and other related service providers
- Ability to adapt to varied caseloads and educational environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations, documenting students’ functional abilities and needs
- Design and execute therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into daily routines
- Document services, progress, and outcomes following school policies and federal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing assessment data and intervention recommendations
- Educate and provide resources to families and staff, fostering supportive home and school strategies
- Adjust interventions based on student response and changing needs
