Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active Occupational Therapist license for the state of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Prior experience working in schools or with pediatric populations is strongly preferred
  • Ability to conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students to identify barriers affecting their academic success and daily activities
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans to address fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
  • Document progress and participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise for student growth and development
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student integration and functional achievement
  • Offer training and resources to school staff on strategies that can be used in the classroom setting
  • Maintain organized and detailed records in compliance with all school and regulatory requirements
