School Occupational Therapist - Willimantic, Connecticut

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students by providing essential occupational therapy support within dedicated Autism program classrooms. This contract role, available immediately through June 2027, is a part-time opportunity working 22.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Perfect for an OT or two COTAs, you’ll support approximately 50 students across five classrooms situated in three welcoming school buildings near Willimantic, CT.

What You’ll Bring:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience working in school-based settings; prior Autism program exposure is a plus
• Ability to deliver compassionate, effective direct services to young learners
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with classroom staff, families, and other therapists
• Adaptability and organizational skills to navigate multiple classrooms and diverse needs

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy services within elementary Autism program classrooms, addressing fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skill development for students
• Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to tailor interventions and integrate OT strategies into daily classroom routines
• Document progress, maintain compliance with school and special education requirements, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Travel between assigned school buildings as part of your regular caseload
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
