As an Occupational Therapist in this part-time, flexible position (20 hours weekly), you will collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver both direct and consultative support to a caseload of 25 students. Your expertise will guide students through treatment sessions and help shape positive educational outcomes for those requiring consultative guidance throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Virginia (VA OT License)
- Ability to initiate credentialing steps quickly, including the VA Department of Social Services check and a required TB test
- Prior experience or keen interest in working within school-based OT settings
- Adaptability and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families
- Strong organization and caseload management abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to students requiring hands-on intervention
- Provide consultative support to teachers and families, ensuring students’ goals are integrated into the academic environment
- Conduct evaluations as needed, collaborating with the Program Director and Lead OT
- Track progress and document services, maintaining compliance with state and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student plans
