Bring your expertise as an Occupational Therapist (OT) to a supportive contract position serving young learners in a welcoming Virginia school district. In this role, you'll work alongside teachers, parents, and a multidisciplinary team to enhance student participation, independence, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver both direct and consultative occupational therapy services as indicated by students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify student strengths and areas of need
- Develop tailored treatment plans and implement evidence-based interventions
- Partner with educators, special education staff, and families to facilitate student progress
- Document sessions and maintain compliance with state and district requirements
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and assist with goal creation
- Support student development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional daily living tasks
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active (or eligibility for) Virginia OT licensure
- NBCOT certification
- Experience with school-based occupational therapy is valued, but not necessary
- Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and supporting diverse learners
Schedule & Details: Anticipate a workweek of approximately 37.5 hours, following the academic calendar including school breaks and holidays.
