Fine Motor Skills Gross Motor Skills School Occupational Therapist | Yorktown, Virginia

Make a difference in students’ lives as an Occupational Therapist serving K-12 learners! This contract position is full-time, beginning in early October and continuing through the end of the year. Your expertise will directly support a diverse student population, helping them reach their fullest potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license and credentials for school settings
• Experience with both fine and gross motor skill development
• Prior work with K-12 students is highly desirable
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ needs and develop individualized intervention plans
• Deliver direct therapy services targeting fine and gross motor skill development
• Consult with teachers and support staff to integrate strategies within classroom environments
• Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain timely, accurate records
• Provide training and resources to school personnel and families to promote ongoing progress
• Monitor and adjust therapeutic approaches in response to student progress
• Collaborate closely with certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) and other allied health professionals
