Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth and development this summer as an Occupational Therapist for an Extended School Year (ESY) program near Ypsilanti, MI. This contract position begins the third week of June and provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a diverse group of learners.

You’ll work with approximately 21 to 25 students across elementary, middle, and high school levels—about 11 in elementary, 7 in middle school, and 2 in high school. Hours are flexible and will be arranged around family schedules, offering you the work-life balance and adaptability many professionals value.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan
  • Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Strong understanding of educational-based OT practices and relevant IEP documentation
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff
  • Flexibility and creativity to adapt strategies for a range of ages and abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative OT services to students as outlined in their IEPs, modifying interventions based on individual needs
  • Collaborate with educational teams and families to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
  • Offer support during scheduled sessions, adjusting hours as needed to match family availability
