School Occupational Therapist - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Make a difference in the lives of young learners as an Occupational Therapist working part-time at an elementary campus near Ypsilanti, MI. In this contract role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting students in grades PK-5, helping them develop essential life and academic skills through individualized therapy sessions.

Your caseload will consist of approximately 25 students, allowing you to provide meaningful, targeted interventions. With a schedule of 2.5 days per week (around 16.5 hours weekly), this position offers flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate closely with teachers, families, and other professionals within a supportive educational environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of Michigan
• Successful completion of the NBCOT OTR exam
• Prior experience working in a school setting is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication skills and a passion for facilitating student growth
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and carry out individualized therapy plans for students in grades PK-5
• Perform assessments to identify students’ occupational therapy needs
• Document all therapy services, progress notes, and communications
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student success
• Assist in creating an environment that fosters independence and participation in classroom activities
