Instructional Assistant - Algonquin, IL

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Hold a valid Illinois Paraprofessional Certification
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting strongly preferred
• Candidates with behavioral support background or experience working with students exhibiting behavioral needs will be prioritized
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a distinct advantage
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
• Ability to assist students with individualized educational and behavioral plans

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support classroom teachers with instructional and behavioral activities
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce lesson plans and provide academic or behavioral support
• Help implement individualized education or behavior intervention plans
• Monitor student progress and report observations to the instructional team
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials
• Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with educators, service providers, and families to support student needs
