Step into a pivotal support role for the 2026–27 school year, providing essential assistance to students and educators across various classrooms in Carbon and Lehigh Counties, PA. With 40 open paraprofessional positions available, this contract opportunity offers diverse assignments supporting students in both school-age and early intervention settings. Assignments commence August 10, 2026, starting with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy, and will transition to regular school schedules in late August. Specific placements will be determined after completion of all onboarding and compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting
- Meet one of the following Pennsylvania paraprofessional credentials: 48+ college credits, an associate degree or higher, or pass a state/local assessment (or complete the seven-module para certification within 60 days of hire)
- Able to provide two supervisor references from paraprofessional roles
- Live within a 35-minute commute of Carbon or Lehigh County
- Willingness and physical ability to support students with behavioral or physical needs (may involve lifting, toileting, or responding to challenging behaviors)
- Availability to work a typical school day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, depending on assignment)
Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction under teacher direction
- Assist with daily living needs, behavioral interventions, and student supervision
- Act promptly and remain attentive to student safety and needs throughout the school day
