Make a meaningful impact as a paraprofessional in the Lehigh County area for the 2026–2027 academic year. These rewarding contract opportunities provide essential classroom support in schools throughout Carbon & Lehigh Counties. Assignments are based on district needs with some consideration for your preferred location or setting.

Openings are available in several supportive learning environments—including Multiple Disabilities Support and Emotional Support—across different grade levels. Candidates should anticipate both the academic demands and the meaningful challenges of working with students who may display behavioral needs or require assistance with physical care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a paraprofessional, ideally in special education or a school environment
  • Able to commute within 35 minutes of assignment
  • Available to work a full school day (approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM depending on site)
  • Meets one of Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification requirements:
    • At least two years post-secondary education (48+ credits) or
    • An associate degree or higher or
    • Passing a qualifying local/state assessment (such as CDA or Credential of Competency)
  • If not yet certified, willingness to complete the required seven-module para certification within 60 days of hire
  • Reliable transportation and on-time, consistent attendance
  • Comfortable supporting students with significant needs, including possible behaviors, assistance with mobility, and personal care

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers and support classroom functioning for students with disabilities
  • Foster a safe, respectful learning environment
  • Help implement individualized instruction plans
  • Support students’ personal care and behavior needs
  • Collaborate with educational staff for school-wide initiatives

Interview Process & Placement

  • In-person interviews are scheduled weekly on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Completion of onboarding, clearances, and certification is required before assignment
