Seeking experienced Paraprofessionals or Certified Nursing Assistants to serve as Bus Aides for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. These positions involve supporting students during transportation in a 1:1 or 2:1 caseload, ensuring their safety and comfort while riding to and from school. This role requires a compassionate and attentive individual comfortable working with children, especially those with special needs.
Location: Seattle, WA, and surrounding areas
Schedule & Hours:
- Part-time, contract-based
- Approximately 3 hours per day (15 hours per week)
- Morning shift: 90 minutes between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM
- Afternoon shift: 90 minutes between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM
- Assignment runs ASAP through May 29, 2026, with opportunities for Extended School Year (ESY) coverage and continuation into the 2026-2027 school year
- Strong likelihood of contract renewal
Key Responsibilities:
- Ride on the bus with students to and from school, assisting drivers to ensure safe and supportive transportation
- Escort the student from home to bus and from bus to school while providing attentive supervision
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques when necessary to support students’ behavioral needs
- Collaborate closely with transportation staff, school personnel, and families
- Prior experience riding the bus with assigned students preferred
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Paraprofessional credential or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred but not required
- Experience working with special education students or students with disabilities
- Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills
- Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work in a part-time, contract-based capacity
