Make a meaningful impact in high school classrooms by supporting students and helping create an inclusive learning environment as a contract paraprofessional. Multiple positions are open, with vacancies across several high schools. You’ll work closely with teachers and special education teams to assist students, foster engagement, and contribute to their educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Must meet “Highly Qualified” requirements by either passing the MN Para Educator Exam or possessing at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required).
- Experience working with high school students or in a classroom setting is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to assist with toileting as needed, supporting all students’ needs.
- Reliable, strong communicator, and able to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and staff.
- Commitment to completing the contract term and open to direct hire after 422 contracting hours.
- Resume and one form of Highly Qualified documentation (transcript or exam score) must be submitted for consideration.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom and one-on-one student support as directed by teaching staff.
- Assist students with academic and functional tasks, utilizing appropriate accommodations.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and physical needs, including toileting assistance.
- Collaborate with teaching and support teams to create a welcoming, effective learning environment.
- Monitor student progress, encourage engagement, and help maintain classroom order.
Position Details & Perks:
- Contract position starting approximately August 31, 2026, through November 29, 2026 (with potential for direct hire).
- 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
