Para Professional in Andover, MN

Make a real difference in the lives of students across a vibrant school district! We are seeking 6 enthusiastic, adaptable contract paraprofessionals to serve as floaters, providing vital classroom support where it’s needed most. You’ll join dedicated school crews in locations across the area, working with Special Education teams, assisting students with behavioral needs, and filling in for call-outs throughout the week. Flexible schedules and variety keep every day fresh, while your impact remains constant and meaningful.

What We’re Looking For:

• Must be classified as "Highly Qualified" by ONE of the following:
  • Successfully passed the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
  • OR completed at least 60 college credits (must provide transcripts)
• Previous experience working in school environments and with students who have behavioral challenges
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different school locations within the district
• Flexible mindset; open to working in both 1:1 and classroom aide roles
• Comfortable assisting with personal care (including toileting) and following Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

What You’ll Do:

• Provide essential classroom support as a substitute paraprofessional, covering absences and call-outs across one of six district crews or the Rivertrail Learning Center
• Help students succeed socially, emotionally, and academically in Special Education settings
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement student plans and positive behavior strategies
• Adapt quickly and support students with varying needs, both individually and in group settings
