In this role, you’ll work 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, supporting elementary through high school students. As part of a team in a Setting 4 site, you’ll address educational, behavioral, and daily living needs—contributing to a positive, encouraging atmosphere. Applicants must be comfortable and experienced with behavioral challenges and open to providing personal care, including toileting assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support academic, social, and behavioral plans for students with significant disabilities.
- Provide direct assistance with personal care and daily living skills as needed.
- Collaborate closely with special education teachers and support staff.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with students, encouraging growth and participation.
Qualifications:
- Must meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional status by either:
- Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam), or
- Holding at least 60 completed college credits with transcript documentation.
- Comfortable working with a range of student ages (elementary to high school) and behaviors.
- Willingness to assist with personal care, including toileting.
- Strong communication, dedication, and a positive, patient attitude.
