Multiple contract opportunities are available for highly-qualified Paraprofessionals at Wilson Elementary, starting this fall and offering the potential to transition into a direct hire role after a 90-day period.
In this vital role, you will provide individualized assistance either in a Center-Based (CB) classroom or in Resource/Setting 1 & 2 positions, supporting students across grade levels. Setting 1/2 paraprofessionals typically spend mornings with one group and afternoons with another, ensuring a dynamic and diverse workday. All support staff should be comfortable assisting with toileting needs.
Qualifications:
- Must meet one of these requirements before being presented:
- Passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam (attach exam documentation)
- At least 60 college credits (attach official college transcript; diploma/degree not accepted)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in educational or support roles, especially with children, is a plus
- Flexibility and reliability in a school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Support instructional and non-instructional activities for assigned students or classrooms
- Assist teachers and staff in creating an inclusive, safe, and encouraging atmosphere
- Foster active engagement and participation from students
- Collaborate to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or support strategies
- Participate fully in all assigned duties, including personal care assistance as needed
This role offers a stable weekday schedule of 32.5 hours per week, with consistent daytime hours. These contract positions present an excellent gateway into a long-term educational career, as you’ll be considered for direct hire status after completing 422 contract hours.
