Make a lasting impact supporting students with significant needs in a dynamic educational environment. A contract paraprofessional role is available working with students in a specialized Setting 4 site, where learners receive Special Education services throughout their entire school day. This opportunity spans all grade levels from elementary through high school and is designed for individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students with high behavioral and academic needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must be Highly Qualified by one of the following:
    • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
    • Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas and degrees do not suffice)
  • Experience working with children with high behavioral needs and/or severe disabilities preferred
  • Comfortable and willing to assist with toileting and personal care needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and students
  • Flexible regarding grade level assignments within elementary through high school, as the center serves a wide age range

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students with severe disabilities, ensuring engagement and safety throughout the school day
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) under the direction of teaching and administrative staff
  • Support students during classroom activities, transitions, and personal care routines, including toileting
  • Promote positive behavior interventions and uphold a supportive, inclusive atmosphere
  • Maintain accurate data and documentation as required by district policies

Benefits and Perks:

  • Contracted role with full-time, consistent hours (32.5 per week, Monday through Friday)

  • Candidates may be considered for direct hire after completion of the initial contracting period
  • Pay for this position is $20 per hour
