Instructional Aide in Antioch, CA

Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a contract paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). Located near Antioch, CA, this opportunity allows you to make a positive impact in a school setting, working closely with a student who will benefit from your skills and compassionate support. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2, 2027, following a consistent school-year schedule with early release every Wednesday.

Key Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in a school environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to provide individualized support and foster an inclusive learning atmosphere
• Patient, reliable, and adaptable to meet diverse student needs
• High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or credentialing a plus)

Responsibilities:

• Assist an elementary-aged student throughout the school day, ensuring access to curriculum and activities
• Support the classroom teacher with implementing educational plans and accommodations
• Facilitate effective communication for the student and promote an inclusive class environment
• Help with transitions, on-task behavior, and social interactions
• Communicate regularly with teachers and support staff regarding student progress
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

Enjoy a consistent work schedule aligned with regular school hours (8:30 am–2:30 pm), with minimum days on Wednesdays (8:30 am–11:30 am). Your commitment and ASL expertise will directly empower a student to achieve greater independence and success in their educational journey.
