Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially within a school environment
- Ability to build rapport and connect with students, adapting activities to individual needs
- Familiarity with working 1:1 with students who may require academic or behavioral assistance
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families
- Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for supporting diverse learners
- High school diploma or equivalent required; paraprofessional certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, hands-on support to a designated student throughout the school day
- Assist with academic tasks, social integration, and life skills, based on the student’s IEP or learning plan
- Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers or specialists
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
- Monitor progress and communicate observations to teaching staff
- Aid with transitions, mobility, or personal care needs as necessary
