Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially within a school environment
  • Ability to build rapport and connect with students, adapting activities to individual needs
  • Familiarity with working 1:1 with students who may require academic or behavioral assistance
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families
  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for supporting diverse learners
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; paraprofessional certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated, hands-on support to a designated student throughout the school day
  • Assist with academic tasks, social integration, and life skills, based on the student’s IEP or learning plan
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers or specialists
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
  • Monitor progress and communicate observations to teaching staff
  • Aid with transitions, mobility, or personal care needs as necessary
