This contract position, located in the Arvada, CO area, is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting students with significant or severe needs in a dynamic school environment. The assignment runs from August 11 through May 21, 2027—providing a chance to make a lasting impact throughout the academic year.
Candidates should be adaptable, as assignments may require flexibility in working with varying age groups or being reassigned between school sites, including participation in the Apollo Program. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and supporting students with toileting and diapering are essential components of this role. Please note, reliable personal transportation is required, as public transit or ride-shares do not meet the district's guidelines.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated experience as a paraprofessional, with a strong background in behavioral support, preferably within schools
- Professional experience managing significant or severe caseloads is strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality essential (arrival by 7:40am for Elementary, 8:00am for Middle/High)
- Willingness to work across multiple school sites and support students of various ages as needed
- Ability to assist students with personal care, including toileting and diapering
- Immediate fingerprinting required after offer; any criminal charges will result in district rejection
- Must provide 2 completed professional RefAssured references at time of presentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Support special education and general education classrooms as directed
- Assist students with behavioral, academic, and personal care needs
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and related staff to foster a positive, inclusive environment
