This unique opportunity allows you to support students with visual impairments in a specialized educational setting.

Please Note: The Georgia Academy for the Blind is affiliated with Fulton County Schools, but the campus is located in Macon, GA. Candidates must be able to travel to Macon daily for this assignment.

Position Details

• Full-Time
• Monday–Friday
• Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Onsite
• Location: Macon, GA

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and instructional support to students with visual impairments
• Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and student learning needs
• Support students with academic, behavioral, and functional skill development
• Assist with mobility, communication, and daily living activities as needed
• Implement student support plans under the direction of classroom teachers and special education staff
• Provide individualized assistance to help students access instruction and participate in school activities
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student success

Qualifications

• Active Georgia Paraprofessional Certification required
• Must have passed the Paraprofessional GACE assessment
• Certification must already be active prior to placement
• Previous special education or school-based experience preferred
• Experience supporting students with disabilities preferred
• Must be available for a full-time Monday–Friday schedule
• Reliable transportation required for daily travel to Macon, GA
