Make a meaningful impact this school year by supporting students as a Special Education Assistant. Two rewarding opportunities are currently available: one is a dedicated 1:1 role with a 4th-grade student, and the other involves working with a small group of 5th graders. These contract roles are structured to offer stability throughout the full academic year, with start dates as soon as possible.
You’ll play an integral part in providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The daily schedule runs Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:20am and ending at dismissal, typically by 3:40pm—allowing you time to make a lasting difference while maintaining work/life balance.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Prior background as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
- Experience working with students receiving special education services
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping children succeed
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to provide both individualized and small group academic and behavioral assistance
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer academic support in accordance with classroom plans and individual learning needs
- Implement positive behavior strategies and reinforce social-emotional learning
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff
- Document student progress and communicate observations to the educational team
- Maintain a nurturing and respectful classroom environment
