Classroom Aide | Baltic, Connecticut

Three contract paraprofessional roles are available for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 24th and concluding June 11th. These positions are full time, offering 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM.

As a paraprofessional in this setting, you'll provide essential 1:1 or 2:1 assistance to children with complex disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, and/or emotional and behavioral challenges. You'll contribute to a collaborative, compassionate environment that is committed to student growth and well-being. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment is preferred (experienced candidates without these credentials are also encouraged to apply)
• Previous experience working with children with disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, or behavioral/emotional needs is a plus
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit empathy
• Willingness to learn new strategies and participate in ongoing training

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students individually or in small groups
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt materials as needed
• Implement strategies tailored to individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
• Document observations and contribute to student progress reports
