Classroom Aide | Bear, Delaware

Step into a pivotal paraprofessional role supporting students in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours, working Monday through Friday, providing essential coverage for a leave of absence. The position is needed immediately and is expected to continue until September 21st, 2026. The site is conveniently near Bear, DE, with responsibilities based onsite at a local high school.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class and one-on-one support to students, assisting with academics, behavior, and personal needs as directed by educational staff.
• Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes student well-being and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized education or behavioral plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding student progress and incidents.
• Encourage independence while offering guidance for success in various classroom and school activities.

Qualifications:

• Must hold and provide a valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit; candidates without this in hand will not be considered.
• Ability to commit to the assignment schedule of Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
• Demonstrated experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is preferred.
• Willing and able to pay $85 for mandatory state-required CBC fingerprinting.
• If holding RBT credentials, be aware the district will not provide BCBA supervision or classify the role/pay as RBT.
