Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting middle school students on the autism spectrum and with complex learning needs. This rewarding contract position provides paraprofessional support within a specialized Bridges program, serving a female student alongside a dedicated care team. You'll enjoy a steady weekday schedule, working onsite in a collaborative and compassionate environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be in hand; permit in process not accepted)
  • Experience or comfort working with students with autism and complex learning needs
  • Confident providing support for feeding and toileting (in collaboration with on-site nurses)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Must consent to and pay for required $85 CBC fingerprinting
  • If RBT certified, self-arranged out-of-school supervision required; role is classified and paid as a paraprofessional

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized support and care for assigned student(s), both academically and behaviorally
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the care team to ensure smooth daily routines
  • Offer hands-on assistance with feeding and toileting as needed, always maintaining respect and dignity for the student
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Model appropriate behaviors and encourage student independence
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress as directed by supervising staff

This assignment runs Monday through Friday, 8:05 am to 2:55 pm (35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) through early June 2027. The setting is warm, team-oriented, and wholly invested in student success.
