Bring your skills and compassion to a dynamic school environment supporting students’ growth as a dedicated Paraprofessional. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a real impact in an elementary school setting, providing vital assistance under a full-year medical leave assignment. Working onsite, you will be an integral part of the educational team, shaping daily experiences and supporting individualized student needs alongside experienced educators.

In this role, you will:

  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students as directed by the supervising teacher or specialist.
  • Assist with implementing lesson plans and activities, helping students stay engaged and on track.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to provide consistent care and educational support.
  • Exhibit professionalism, adaptability, and a passion for supporting elementary-aged students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures.

To succeed you’ll possess:

  • A valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit in hand, as required. If your permit is pending, a screenshot from the DEEDS portal must accompany your application.
  • Commitment to completing required $85 CBC fingerprinting (please ensure you can meet this requirement).
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional within schools is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of student needs.
  • Please note: If you hold RBT certification, you are responsible for your own outside supervision; the district will not accommodate this role.

This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.
