Classroom Assistant | Bear, Delaware

Step into a rewarding contract role as a Paraprofessional, supporting vibrant Kindergarten classrooms for approximately 60 days. This assignment offers hands-on experience in an engaging school environment, working directly with educators and students to deliver programmatic support across the campus.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be in hand – candidates with permits “pending” will not be considered unless a DEEDS portal screenshot is provided)
• Prior paraprofessional experience in a school or educational setting preferred
• Willingness to undergo CBC fingerprinting at the candidate’s expense
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support student learning
• Passion for working in early childhood or elementary education settings

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct classroom assistance and instructional support for Kindergarten students under teacher guidance
• Monitoring student activities and ensuring safety and engagement during the school day
• Assisting with classroom organization, materials preparation, and positive behavior reinforcement
• Supporting diverse learners and adapting to a variety of Kindergarten classroom needs
• Maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanor

This onsite opportunity offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, with 35 hours per week and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. You’ll have the chance to make a daily impact in a supportive school community and develop valuable skills as an essential part of the educational team. Please note, if certified as an RBT, district supervision is not offered and outside arrangements will be necessary to maintain certification.
