Classroom Assistant | Belen, New Mexico

Support the success of students in a dynamic educational environment as a paraprofessional. This contract opportunity is based near Belen, NM and focuses on providing valuable assistance in classrooms and supporting instructional activities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or in a related educational support role is highly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with children of diverse needs and backgrounds
• Ability to follow teacher instructions and contribute positively to a team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional educational training or relevant certifications a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning concepts
• Help manage classroom behaviors and maintain a safe, productive learning environment
• Support students with special needs according to individualized education plans, under supervision
• Prepare and organize instructional materials as needed
• Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, or transitions
• Collaborate with education professionals to support student goals and learning outcomes
