Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Possess a valid Missouri substitute certificate or ParaPro certification (required)
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or instructional assistant is highly valued
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Functional Skills support strategies
- Strong communication, patience, and collaborative skills
- Ability to work effectively with students in grades 1, 3, and 4
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with functional skill needs in 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades at the elementary level
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to carry out individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Assist students with classroom activities, behavior management, and personal needs
- Implement intervention plans and adapt lessons to student abilities
- Track student progress and communicate observations to educators and support staff
