This contract opportunity is designed for experienced paraprofessionals eager to make an impact in a highly structured, safety-focused special education classroom, supporting students demonstrating severe needs—including those with autism, significant behavioral challenges, and intensive safety considerations.
Your workweek will run Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 37.5 hours, beginning with a required in-depth orientation week (8:30 AM–4:30 PM). The assignment spans the full academic year, from mid-August through early June.
Successful candidates will bring:
- At least 1 year of paraprofessional experience in special education within school settings supporting children with autism and intensive behavioral needs (PreK–12)
- Comfort and skill in working within a high-intensity environment, including de-escalation and hands-on safety interventions
- Ability to support students in all aspects of daily life, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and self-care
- Residence within a 35-minute commute of the site
- Availability to fulfill the full weekly schedule, with punctuality and attendance reliability
- Readiness to attend a mandatory orientation week prior to placement
- Willingness to complete all required clearances before the assignment begins
Pennsylvania state paraprofessional qualification requirements apply. Candidates must either present qualifying credentials (48+ college credits, associate’s degree or higher, or state/local certification) or complete the seven-module certification program within 60 days of starting the role.
