Make a positive impact each day supporting students in an engaging elementary school environment! This contract role is ideal for a dedicated Paraprofessional interested in providing essential support to Autistic Support classrooms. The full-time schedule offers 32.5 hours per week, with working hours from 8:50 AM to 3:50 PM and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students in an Autistic Support classroom, including personal care, academic assistance, and safety monitoring
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, following their direction and support plans
- Assist with the implementation of individualized strategies to promote student learning and participation
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students
- Ensure student safety at all times, responding promptly and appropriately to behavioral or medical needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in school settings as a Paraprofessional, PCA, or similar role preferred
- Punctual, flexible, and student-focused
- Familiarity with providing personal care and safety support to students
- CPR/First Aid certification recommended, or willingness to obtain certification within 10 school days of hire
- CPI training preferred; must be willing to complete CPI training post-hire if not already certified
- Ability to take direction from educators and work collaboratively within a team
