Make an immediate impact supporting student achievement as a Paraprofessional specializing in ASL for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity is located onsite near Benton, LA and focuses on delivering 1:1 American Sign Language (ASL) support to a 7th-grade student, ensuring full access to the curriculum and a successful educational experience.

Key Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a school paraprofessional or comparable role in an educational environment
  • Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL); able to provide effective communication and support
  • Understanding of middle school classroom dynamics and willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff
  • Patient, compassionate, and reliable—committed to fostering student independence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, 1:1 ASL interpretation and academic support to a 7th-grade student with hearing needs
  • Facilitate understanding and participation in classroom instruction and school activities
  • Communicate effectively with teaching staff to adapt materials and assignments as needed
  • Assist in monitoring student progress and contributing to individual education plans
  • Maintain a respectful and inclusive learning environment
