Assignments vary across Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, High School, and Bus Aide roles, so adaptability and a team-oriented mindset are essential. Flexibility is crucial; all paraprofessionals must be open to a variety of responsibilities, including toileting, diapering, feeding, and health-related support.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or higher, OR 48 college units and a High School Diploma, OR passing of the CBEST or Instructional Aide Exam with a High School Diploma.
  • For specialized roles, additional credentials may be necessary (e.g., annual completion of emergency anti-seizure training, CPR/First Aid, sign language fluency, experience with Braille, or Licensed Vocational Nursing).
  • Experience working as a Paraprofessional for at least 6 months within the last two years is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to adapt to various school environments and support diverse student needs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Capable of performing all assigned tasks, including physical care needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with classroom activities and personal care as required.
  • Support learning, behavior management, and individualized instruction plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and remain current on necessary certifications.
  • Engage in ongoing communication with school personnel to respond to changing student needs.
