Instructional Assistant - Berkeley, California

Step into a rewarding educational environment supporting students as a Paraprofessional or Instructional Aide. Multiple contract positions are open for the upcoming academic year, placing dedicated professionals across several elementary schools. You’ll have the chance to work closely with children from Transitional Kindergarten to 5th grade, providing meaningful day-to-day support and ensuring every child is set up for success.

What we’re seeking:

• Experience working with school-age children or in a classroom setting (preferred)
• Genuine enthusiasm for supporting student learning and engagement
• Comfort assisting with toileting/diapering needs for younger students
• Willingness to work across a range of elementary grade levels and adapt to different classroom environments
• Ability to complete required paraprofessional training
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a team approach
• Dependability and punctuality to cover either early or later schedules depending on site need

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher and classroom team in daily activities, lessons, and routines
• Provide direct support to students individually or in small groups, helping them stay engaged and successful
• Offer compassionate guidance and supervision during transitions, lunchtime, and breaks
• Help with hygiene routines as needed
• Contribute positively to classroom organization and an inclusive atmosphere
