Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous paraprofessional or classroom support experience preferred
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs or behavioral challenges
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine desire to work with children
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and support staff
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or college coursework in education a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
  • Provide individualized and small-group support to students, reinforcing educational concepts and addressing unique learning needs
  • Help monitor classroom behavior and maintain a positive, productive learning environment
  • Support students with academic tasks, transitions, and organization throughout the school day
  • Collaborate in creating a nurturing, inclusive setting for all students, including those with special needs
  • Document student progress and communicate observations to teaching staff as needed
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed on best practices
