Instructional Assistant - Berkeley, CA

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or educational environment
• Ability to follow teacher direction and uphold classroom routines
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, educators, and teams
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Capability to assist students with differing abilities and needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or paraprofessional certification is a plus

Key responsibilities:

• Support teachers in implementing lesson plans and reinforcing instructional goals
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students needing additional support
• Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Help with behavior management and facilitate positive student interactions
• Assist in supervised activities both inside and outside the classroom
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the appropriate staff
