Key Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or directly related experience
  • Paraprofessional Certification, Associate’s degree, or a minimum of 60 college credits
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping special education students
  • Ability to assist with supervision, classroom management, and instruction as outlined in PPT and IEP documents
  • Willingness to assist students with toileting if needed

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with students and provide general classroom support alongside teachers and supervisors
  • Assist in the supervision and instruction of special education students, ensuring activities align with IEPs
  • Help create a positive classroom atmosphere by supporting academics, behavior management, and daily routines
  • Communicate regularly with teaching staff to update on student progress and needs
  • Facilitate student participation in classroom exercises and activities
