Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or directly related experience
- Paraprofessional Certification, Associate’s degree, or a minimum of 60 college credits
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping special education students
- Ability to assist with supervision, classroom management, and instruction as outlined in PPT and IEP documents
- Willingness to assist students with toileting if needed
Core Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with students and provide general classroom support alongside teachers and supervisors
- Assist in the supervision and instruction of special education students, ensuring activities align with IEPs
- Help create a positive classroom atmosphere by supporting academics, behavior management, and daily routines
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff to update on student progress and needs
- Facilitate student participation in classroom exercises and activities
