Key Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment
- Availability to work a school schedule, Monday through Friday (start between 7:00 AM and end as late as 3:30 PM, depending on assignment)
- Reliable transportation and residence within 35 minutes of Carbon or Lehigh County
- Ability to meet Pennsylvania’s paraprofessional credential requirements (associate’s degree, 48 college credits, or passing state/local assessment). If not currently credentialed, willingness to complete certification within 60 days of hire
- Comfortable supporting students with a range of needs, which may include managing behaviors and assisting with daily living activities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instruction and behavioral support
- Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce learning
- Provide care, supervision, and support for student needs, including mobility, hygiene, and social integration
- Collaborate with educational and behavioral staff to ensure student success
- Maintain consistent, on-time attendance throughout the school year
